AI and the Future of Visual Storytelling
In the past decade, visual storytelling has been reshaped by a series of technological disruptions, yet none have been as significant—or as polarizing—as artificial intelligence. When we talk about AI in the context of visual design, it is no longer an abstract discussion reserved for researchers in labs or speculative futurists at conferences. Instead, AI has rapidly entered the everyday workflow of designers, photographers, filmmakers, and illustrators.
However, this reframing does not come without tension. One of the central questions is authenticity. If a story is told through images generated by a machine, does it carry the same weight as a story told through a camera lens or a brushstroke?
